HELD is a guided experience in human connection and nurturing, nonsexual touch. It is an opportunity to leave your worries and devices at the door, and walk away feeling seen for your true self, heard without judgement, and physically relaxed, refreshed, and blissed out on oxytocin.
To be clear, HELD is not a “cuddle party,” couples event, or sensual/sexual workshop. (Nothing wrong with that, it’s just not what we’re up to.) It is a guided experience with paired and group exercises that enable you to feel truly seen, heard and held. These include an exploration of:
• Eye contact and truly seeing one other
• Listening with full presence and non-judgement
• Extended oxytocin-releasing hugs
• Giving/receiving non-sexual touch
• Practicing communication and consent
• Sharing experiences in a safe space
All comfort levels are welcome. We’re here to meet you where you are, while aiming to expanding your awareness, comfort zones, and communication.
There are a range of exercises throughout the session, and we generally encourage you to explore the feeling of connecting with people you don't know or don't know well. However, if you'd like to use this as an opportunity to have a special experience with a particular person (e.g. a partner, friend, family member), we'll suggest exercises that might be good for you try together.
